IDT Single-chip Wireless Power Transmitter Receives WPC Qi Certification
SAN JOSE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--
Integrated Device Technology (News - Alert), Inc. (IDT®)
(NASDAQ:IDTI), the Analog and Digital Company™ delivering essential
mixed-signal semiconductor solutions, today announced that its
single-chip wireless power transmitter solution has received full "Qi"
certification by the Wireless
Power Consortium (WPC). This certification ensures interoperability
with any other device meeting the WPC Qi standard, providing charging
station manufacturers the confidence to design with IDT's solution for
applications requiring Qi compliance.
The IDTP9030
is the world's most highly integrated single-chip
wireless power transmitter available, enabling customers to develop
Qi-compliant charging stations that are compact and cost-efficient. The
device integrates dozens of discrete components into a simplified,
cost-effective, and highly efficient solution. The IDTP9030 reduces
application footprint by 80 percent and solution BOM by 50 percent
compared to other solutions. Charging stations that take advantage of
the IDTP9030 may be deployed virtually anywhere, including homes,
offices, libraries, stores, public waiting areas, automobiles, airports,
and airplane seats.
"We are delighted to have this exceptional product receive the coveted
Qi certification from the WPC," said Arman
Naghavi, vice president and general manager of the Analog and Power
Division at IDT. "IDT is the first to offer a true single-chip wireless
power transmitter IC solution to address a projected $3.3B wireless
power market. Our customers can now take advantage of this innovative
product to design Qi-compliant charging stations with full confidence of
interoperability with other Qi products."
Complementing IDT's transmitter is the IDTP9020
high-efficiency single-chip
wireless power receiver. Both transmitter and receiver are capable
of "multi-mode" operation, supporting both the Qi standard as well as
proprietary formats for added features, improved safety, and increased
power output capability. Built-in protocol detection enables dynamic
switching between Qi and proprietary modes, creating seamless
transitions and a trouble-free user experience.
The IDTP9030 transmitter and IDTP9020 receiver ICs are currently
sampling to qualified customers. For more information about these
