Broadband Stimulus Delays, Delays, Delays

There’s been another delay to the broadband stimulus.

 

Rather than announcing first round broadband stimulus winners next month as previously expected, the NTIA and RUS now say they will make those announcements in mid December.

 

The first round money, as result, will be distributed in February as opposed to later this year.

 

“We’re going to take a few more weeks here to make sure we get this right,” Lawrence Strickling, leader of the NTIA, reportedly told members of the Senate Commerce Committee at an oversight hearing on Tuesday.

 

This delay is just one of many in the short history of the broadband stimulus.
