Barely two months into the New Year, Actelis (News - Alert) Networks already has quite the travel schedule in place -attending conferences and events to spread the world regarding the reality of universal broadband, and how the company delivers its broadband services to underserved and unserved regions in the U.S.
It goes without saying that the demand for broadband services is at an all time high. For those who are located in desolate areas without the luxury of instant access, the benefits that can be provided utilizing services like Actelis’ are endless including opportunities for jobs, education and the economy in general.
Today, the Broadband Acceleration Company will be showcasing its broadband solutions at the 2012 NTCA Annual Meeting and Expo in San Diego, Calif. at Booth 310. This morning, Prakash Nagpal, director of solutions marketing at Actelis, presented "Universal Broadband is Here!" a session that explored how carriers can immediately deliver broadband services to millions of U.S. residential subscribers. Nagpal demonstrated how carriers can reach their entire customer serving area as well as bridge the digital divide with minimal CapEx and little to no OpEx to the carrier by leveraging the existing copper infrastructure.
According to Actelis, visitors to Actelis' Booth #310 will have the opportunity to learn more about the company's award-winning product line of Broadband Accelerators (BBAs), a solution that represents a paradigm shift in the way carriers address universal broadband and the digital divide; a challenge that Actelis looks at as more of an economic opportunity.
In addition, Actelis' line of BBAs was a recent recipient of the 2011 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year Award, demonstrating that the BBA can have a significant and positive impact on the growth of universal broadband.
Utilizing Actelis BBAs can help boost broadband rates by as much as 100 percent on typical loops and more than 400 percent on long loops, increasing DSL penetration rates in underserved and unserved communities, according to the company.
Last week, Actelis was also present at NARUC 2012 (the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners Winter Committee Meeting) in Washington D.C. to showcase its BBA to the U.S. utility commissioners. Actelis’ discussed the reality of universal broadband as well as how its BBAs deliver the promise of universal broadband to underserved areas and how they help to bridge the digital divide.
"Governments everywhere are looking at universal broadband as a means to stimulate economic growth. Actelis believes that broadband services can be delivered without the enormous upfront costs and investment returns which can take years," commented Vivek Ragan, president and CEO of Actelis. "Actelis is attending NARUC to showcase and inform commissioners and service providers about the most cost-effective, expedient method of delivering universal broadband, which can help stimulate economic growth."
Next up, Actelis can be found at RIITA in Des Moines, IA and the Minnesota Telecom Alliance in Minneapolis, MN in March. In April, the Actelis team can also be found at Comptel Plus in San Francisco and Light Reading’s (News - Alert) Ethernet Expo in Munich, Germany.
