Sequans Communications has called upon the services of Aricent (News - Alert) Group to test its LTE User Equipment (UE) based on its own 4G-LTE chipsets.

Aricent will deliver field and lab testing of Sequans’ M2M devices, Customer Premise Equipment (CPE), smartphones, and USB dongles. The vast LTE (News - Alert) expertise of Aricent Group should come in handy for testing Sequans’ customer sites worldwide and Aricent’s 4G LTE lab in Gurgaon, India will handle the troubleshooting and diagnoses processes.

Aricent claimed that this engagement underscores its unique abilities to support chip makers, device manufacturers, and operators in their 4G/ LTE deployments. Sequans hopes to gain competitive advantages from the Aricent’s best-in-class achievements in device and protocol testing and will also be able to rapidly advance its footprint among device manufacturers and operators. 

Sequans explained that its 4G-LTE chipset offerings are based on either its second-generation Andromeda LTE platform or its Mont Blanc platform. The chipsets are designed to offer the highest possible efficiencies and can be deployed either as a standalone 4G solution or alongside a 3G subsystem. The company also offers integrated, direct conversion RF solution based on CMOS process technology that is designed to be integrated with Sequans’ LTE baseband chips.
