Intelligent network access solutions provider Net Optics, Inc. announced that its Director Platform has been integrated with the SolarWinds Network Management system, Orion Network Performance Monitor or "NPM," in order to improve the management of network infrastructure.

According to a press release, Net Optics (News - Alert) participated in the SolarWinds Technology Partner program to enable the interoperability between Net Optics Director Platform and SolarWinds Orion NPM. With this, prospective and existing customers can now leverage the integration to manage the monitoring access layer of their network infrastructure.

The Net Optics Director is a platform with filtering capabilities that enhances the efficiency as well as performance of tools attached to network links. The platform also has passive nature that ensures network reliability because it does not affect network performance or provide a point of latency or failure.

According to Net Optics, IT professionals use the company's Director Platform to leverage their existing monitoring tool investments by aggregating and switching traffic so that tools can see more of the network, by sharing tools among groups, and by relieving oversubscribed tools through dynamic filtering.

Designed to support the real-world network management challenges that IT teams face, the Orion NPM enables quick detection, diagnosis, and capability to resolve performance issues within the dynamic network environment. It also provides real-time views and dashboards that facilitate users to visually track network performance.

According to SolarWinds (News - Alert), users can add additional modules to their Orion NPM deployment, as required, to build an IT management system that fulfils most requirements from configuration, to application performance, to network traffic performance.

With the interoperability between Net Optics Director Platform and SolarWinds Orion NPM, both SolarWinds and Net Optics users can have the capability to discover their Management Access Devices that enable them to set traps and alerts.

Both the Net Optics Director platform and SolarWinds Orion NPM communicate using Simple Network Management Protocol or "SNMP," management information bases or "MIB," and traps. With the integration of Director DIR-3400, DIR-5400, and DIR-7400 devices into Orion NPM, network managers as well as architects can extend visibility and manageability to the network's monitoring access layer. This enables cost-saving and revenue-enhancing improvements in overall network reliability, performance, and maintainability.

"Director is one of our most powerful and most popular tools," stated Bob Shaw, president and CEO of Net Optics. "It enables users to increase network visibility by tapping into all of their network traffic and intelligently routing it to the tools they choose. Similarly, SolarWinds Orion Network Performance Monitor easily and cost-effectively organizes changes in network environments, improving the network's manageability, availability and performance. This partnership allows users to access, monitor, manage, and troubleshoot their most important network assets."

In trecent news, TMCnet reported that Net Optics introduced three new products -- Director Pro, Gig Zero Delay Tap and 40G Fiber Tap -- to improve healthcare network performance and help healthcare's digital future.
