Proxicast, a Pittsburgh-based maker of a LAN-Cell family of 3G cellular routers, has launched the newest version of its VPN solution for remote access over 3G cellular networks.
The version 4.70 of the Proxicast IPSec VPN Client Software for Windows boasts 36 new features, enhancements and updates including improved support for Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows 7 security and communications mechanisms. The new version allows for automatic setup of Windows 7 Firewall rules. In addition, it provides support or the new Windows 7’s WWAN Communications Driver model that enables Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G broadband modem devices. The new version can be used in Czech and Danish in addition to 19 other languages.
The Proxicast VPN Client provides full IPSec and IKE support, strong network authentication, strong network encryption through DES, 3DES, AES and RSA (News - Alert), support for multiple connection types like DSL, Cable, cellular and Wi-Fi and multiple simultaneous tunnels. Other VPN Client features such as Dynamic DNS support eliminates need for static IP’s on either end of the VPN tunnel.
The Configuration Wizard in the VPN Client software allows remote users to setup a VPN connection in less than 60 seconds. It also complements VPN Wizard in LAN Cell 3G router’s firmware.
Version 4.70 is a free upgrade to existing Proxicast IPSec VPN customers. It is available for all 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows. A 30-day free trial version is available on the Proxicast web site http://www.proxicast.com/vpnclient/VPN_Client_Download.htm.
