The CTIA (News - Alert) Wireless show will play host to a lot of new technologies within its time, and the 2012 event will prove no exception as SOLiD Technologies has plans to launch its new line of small cell wireless backhaul solutions, as well as its new high-power outdoor DAS at the event.

SOLiD Technologies will bring out two new pieces of equipment for exhibition at their booth, specifically the TITAN 20W Remote Unit and the ACCESS-GT Small Cell Backhaul and Wi-Fi Offload system. SOLiD is also set to be demonstrating current models like the ALLIANCE multi-service DAS system, as well as the single operator EXPRESS system, which offers fast and easy commissioning by way of the EasySET system included.

The TITAN 20W Remote Unit can work with either the ALLIANCE or the EXPRESS systems to allow a wider coverage of Wi-Fi signals, as well as offering more user capacity. This is ideal for large venues looking to add wireless connectivity to school campuses, subways, sports venues, convention centers and similar places where a lot of people seek a Wi-Fi signal. SOLiD's Titan is also said to be very efficient in its use of fiber, giving it something of an advantage over similar units.

The ACCESS-GT Small Cell Backhaul, meanwhile, allows for multiplexing as much as 16 channels of broadband access per strand of fiber available to it, which can eliminate – or at least reduce – the need to pull new fiber, which can be a difficult and expensive operation.

And since it includes tunable laser technology, it can do this at further reduced cost against similar laser systems, and even automatically commissions the fiber network. This in turn maintains manual configurations, a need for specialized training and the expected costs of such out of the picture as much as possible.

SOLiD Technologies says since not only TITAN and ACCESS but also ALLIANCE and EXPRESS were built after the original launch of the iPhone (News - Alert), they're in a unique position to serve the needs of Wi-Fi providers as they can handle the kind of high-bandwidth activities iPhones are often used in, like streaming video and similar functions.

For those planning to hit the CTIA Wireless show who want to see SOLiD's product base in action, the show will be held in New Orleans May 8 through May 10. SOLiD Technologies (News - Alert) will be in booth 4461.
