Offering the nation’s largest 4G LTE network, Verizon Wireless (News - Alert) is working hard to expand its LTE network in Stockton, Calif., a project that should be up and running within the next few weeks. While Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE service is currently available in Stockton, the new network will give improved access to the service for residents in areas including Quail Lake, Lathrop and Waterloo.
"The future is here in Stockton and it is Verizon Wireless 4G LTE," said Kevin Zavaglia, region president for Verizon Wireless, in a statement. "Our commitment to 4G LTE is bringing customers a level of wireless data service with upload and download speeds and connectivity that is revolutionizing the way we communicate."
With this 4G LTE wireless connectivity offering, customers in these locations can now use their mobile and wireless devices to access the Internet faster; listen to music or watch video on their phones; use thousands of apps; and stay in touch with family and friends. LTE boasts speeds up to 10 times faster than traditional networks.
The wireless connectivity provider first launched its 4G LTE network in 203 markets across the country back in December of 2010 and now currently serves more than 200 million people using over 20 4G LTE devices including tablets, smartphones, hotspots and more.
Verizon Wireless 4G LTE boasts data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
Recently, the company revealed it is s bringing the 4G LTE wireless connectivity solution to Salisbury, Md. on April 19.In another similar development, Verizon Wireless also activated its new 4G LTE service in Vernon, CT. This private investment further expands 4G LTE coverage in Vernon along Interstate 84, Route 30 and in the vicinities of Bolton and Tunnel Roads.
