Full-day Workshop Exploring the Opportunities and Challenges
of the 4G Future
The success of WiFi in the home has shown that the increased
customer demand for Wireless Internet communications will
become the driving force for the next decade of Internet
deployments. Devices that support “in home” use, such as Dual
mode phones and Femtocells, all point to a concentration on the
edge device.
But what if the edge device could improve with new technology?
What if the use of unlicensed spectrum opened up the wireless
broadband pipe into the home and offered an alternative to
competitive services as well as access to new ones?
The 4GWE White Spaces Summit, titled Exploiting Unlicensed
Spectrum will delve in these questions and more while providing
attendees with a clear understanding of how this technology can
create new services and disrupt the entire wireless industry.
The Summit will also explore the regulatory framework that the
FCC will implement to manage White Spaces initiatives while
identifying the potential for new broadband services based on
these rules.
Many Wireless Industry leaders feel that the unlicensed
White Spaces spectrum has huge potential to unleash a wave of
innovation and provide advanced wireless broadband services to a
growing market of Wireless Internet users. On the other hand,
opponents feel that allowing use of this spectrum will interfere
with digital TV signals and wireless microphones.
The 4GWE White Spaces Summit will explore both sides of this
argument and present attendees with an understanding of where
and how this unlicensed spectrum can be exploited to offer new
wireless services.
Who Will Attend?
Anyone who has a stake in utilizing the White Spaces spectrum to
