(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Atmel Corporation (Nasdaq:ATML), a provider of microcontroller and touch solutions, revealed today that it is collaborating with visual computing technologies specialist NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq:NVDA) to enable large-format touchscreens for tablet PCs.

The joint reference design from Atmel and NVIDIA includes the NVIDIA Tegra 2 mobile super chip and Atmel's maXTouch mXT1386 solution, to power large touchscreens up to 15 inches for smartphones, tablet PCs, mobile Internet devices and other applications.
