Introducing Projectbook for iPad - The First 'Active' Notebook
MINNEAPOLIS --(Business Wire)--
Theory.io™, a productivity software company working in stealth mode for
the past year, announces its first app, Projectbook™. A notebook and
to-do manager for the iPad®, Projectbook keeps you organized even if you
don't have time to organize. Projectbook holds notes, to-do lists, Word
docs, PDFs, web clips, sketches, photos, manages task, projects,
reminders, and automatically links related information so anything can
be found without creating tags, folders, keywords, or an Internet
connection. Normally priced at $6.99, Projectbook is available in the App
Store from today through August 15, 2012 at a special introductory
price of $1.99.
Projectbook uses natural language technology to "understand" content of
collected notes, web clips, Word docs, PDFs, and tasks transforming
static notebook pages into "active" links automatically, making finding
content easy as tapping a link.
-
Projectbook links key words in notes, like links on web pages, letting
users navigate between related notes, documents and to-dos.
-
"Similar Notes" button finds everything in Projectbook by subject,
without having to create tags or folders.
-
"Related Notes" folder collects all Projectbook files related to those
already in any folder or tag.
-
"Active Folders" files notes and documents automatically based on
words and phrases.
Users can also organize files manually by folders, tags, or dates, and
find notes and documents through Projectbook's live search, which
updates results instantly with each character entered.
In Projectbook, its easy to combine files and information together on a
page, and format text in multiple fonts, outlines, bullets, checkboxes,
sketches, images, audio recordings, handwriting, and to-do lists.
Generate meeting notes, action lists, reports, and other documents in an
instant and email PDF and HTML files of any of these pages with just a
tap without leaving the app.
Unlike most note-taking apps, Pojectbook integrates an intuitive to-do
manager with GTD® features that manages priorities with the information
needed to get them done. In the to-do manager, create multi-level
projects, set repeating to-dos, assign others tasks, organize to-dos in
any order, and categorize tasks by tags or people. To-dos can be created
while taking notes with just a by tap the "Make To-do" button, and tasks
are emailed directly to Projectbook's to-do list. Notes and documents
can be attached to any task so users can move between to-dos, notes, and
documents without switching apps.
Projectbook, a native iPad application, with Internet enabled features
previously available only in apps that store data in the cloud. Many
cloud apps are rendered useless without Internet connections, endure
server downtime, forcing users to give up control over their information
to subscription services, Projectbook stores information in the app and
on the iPad, where its always available, relying on the cloud only for
backup and synchronization. Projectbook users can email notes and to-dos
into notebook, clip web pages from Safari®, Chrome®, and Firefox® on
computers, import web pages from Instapaper® and Pocket® on any device,
import documents from Dropbox (News - Alert)®, and synchronize entire notebooks across
devices automatically.
"Projectbook was born from frustration with cloud-reliant apps crippling
my productivity too many times," said Peter Tamte, president, Theory.io.
"Mobile Internet access can be, unreliable, and expensive. Cloud servers
go down, and I don't want to worry about paying big subscription fees
someday to get my notes back. With Projectbook, I can always find
exactly the right notes, documents, web clips, sketches and to-do lists
wherever I go, even when I forget to tag, file or lose an Internet
connection."
