Shareholder rights law firm Johnson & Weaver, LLP has launched an investigation into whether the board members of Bally Technologies (News - Alert), Inc. (NYSE: BYI) breached their fiduciary duties in connection with the proposed $5.1 billion sale of the company to Scientific Games Corporation.

On August 1, 2014, Bally Technologies and Scientific Games entered into an agreement whereby Scientific Games will acquire Bally Technologies. Under the terms of the agreement, Bally Technologies shareholders wil receive $83.30 per share in cash for each share of Bally Technologies they own.
