Kaplan EdTech Accelerator Showcases Its 2014 Class of 11 Startups at Demo DayNEW YORK --(Business Wire)-- Today, the 2014 Kaplan EdTech Accelerator, powered by Techstars, culminated with Demo Day, when 11 startups "graduated" and presented their innovative educational solutions to an invitation-only audience of angel and venture investors and education-sector leaders in New York City. (Photo: Business Wire) Launched in 2013 by Kaplan, Inc., the global education company and largest subsidiary of Graham Holdings Company (NYSE: GHC), and Techstars, the global startup accelerator, the program is the first and largest corporate-sponsored accelerator focused exclusively in the edtech sector. The Kaplan EdTech Accelerator startups just finished an intensive three-month business development program that provided mentorship by more than 70 Kaplan executives and as well as about 100 other experts from the tech and business communities, and up to $170,000 in investment capital to develop their companies. The startups also gained special access to Kaplan's proprietary work in cognitive science and technology and exposure to its breadth of educational assets.
