GEICO's CAT team standing by to serve policyholders as Tropical Storm Erika moves closer to U.S.

GEICO's Catastrophe Claims Response Team (CAT) and auto damage adjusters are standing by ready to assist policyholders if and when Tropical Storm Erika reaches U.S. locations along the Florida coast and Eastern Seaboard.

GEICO urges policyholders to report any losses as early as possible on the GEICO mobile app, GEICO's website or call GEICO's claims team 1-800-841-3000.

"We've been following Tropical Storm Erika very closely, so we are aware of the serious damage this storm can cause," said George Rogers, senior vice president for GEICO. "We want people to know that we are ready to assist and do as much as possible to get their claims handled quickly so that they can get back to their everyday lives."

GEICO urges policyholders to take all necessary steps to protect their families, their homes and their vehicles prior to the storm. The company also urges residents to heed the instructions of their local fire and police agencies.

GEICO officials say that additional information is available at GEICO's online Catastrophe Center with preparedness tips, links to other important hurricane information and weather sites, and immediate claims handling capabilities.

GEICO (Government Employees Insurance Company) is a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies and is the second-largest private passenger auto insurance company in the United States. GEICO also provides insurance quotes on motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), travel trailers and motorhomes (RVs).
