Sandstorm Awarded Another Significant Patent on PhoneSweep

MALDEN, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- June 3, 2004 -- PhoneSweep, the World's First Multi-Line Wardialer, Now Dominates the Market With Customers in 55 Countries, Including Over Half the Fortune 100

This week Sandstorm Enterprises was issued its third US Patent 6,744,864 for Adaptive dialing system and method. With this patent, Sandstorm secures yet another unique technology that establishes PhoneSweep(R) as the only Wardialing solution recommended by the SANS Institute. Our adaptive dialing system allows us to differentiate voice telephone lines, fax machines, fax modems, or data modems with just one phone call, saving our customers thousands of dollars in their Wardialing efforts.

"Patenting Sandstorm's technology for both PhoneSweep(R) and NetIntercept(R) adds to the intellectual property value of our organization," states Rickland Powell, Director of Business Development. "Customers and partners continue to benefit from the quality of our engineering team with each new patent that gets issued."

In January of 2004, Sandstorm was awarded its second US Patent 6,678,270, on the Packet interception system including arrangement facilitating authentication of intercepted packets. "Packet authentication is a core future technology in the network forensics realm," says Walker Whitehouse, CIO. "Court cases involving collected network traffic will no doubt evolve to requiring chain-of-custody authentication."

In January of 2003, Sandstorm's primary competitor for multi-line Wardialing, Secure Logix, discontinued their Wardialing product based on the strength of Sandstorm's first US Patent 6,490,349, on System and method for scan-dialing telephone numbers and classifying equipment connected to telephone lines associated therewith. This strong process-based patent covers database dialing, a core component of any commercial grade war dialer.
