Mag Rack Launches Companion Broadband Service

NEW YORK, May 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Mag Rack, the original on-demand television network, announced today the launch of its new broadband companion for digital cable subscribers. The site, which is designed to complement the original VOD programming that has come to personify the Mag Rack brand, launched today.
Mag Rack partnered with new media design group, Heavy, Inc., to create and launch the broadband site, which enhances the companion VOD network while providing original "extras" that are created exclusively for the broadband platform. Access to the site requires a digital cable subscription and cable modem service.
"Mag Rack provided a preview demonstration of our broadband site at this year's National Show where we received great feedback," says Daniel Ronayne, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Mag Rack & sportskool. "Our new broadband service utilizes our great programming to promote our brand while strengthening our position as the leading VOD network."
Mag Rack's broadband service, which can be tailored to meet the specifications of cable operators, features a dual-frame home page "teaser" for two of Mag Rack's program categories headlined by the tagline "TV for Whatever Turns You On." Every month, customers can stream two originally produced "Day & Date" programs promoting Mag Rack's current VOD offering, in addition to two segments from Mag Rack's library of content that run exclusively on the broadband platform. Also exclusive to Mag Rack's broadband service is a monthly "Stuff We Love" original editorial feature that showcases timely or trendy tips for viewers.
Mag Rack's new consumer website, targeted to viewers with password protected affiliate pages, was also designed by Heavy. http://www.magrack.com/ launched earlier this April.
