Shanghai Greenland to Create China Top Furniture Center

(SinoCast Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)SHANGHAI, Apr 18, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) --Shanghai Greenland Group, China's leading real estate developer, announced on April 13 that it would build a furnishing manufacturing and sale center by partnering with Jisheng Wellborn Group, a furniture chain store giant in the country.

With a total investment of CNY 3 billion, the project will cover an area of about 1,000 mu (1 mu = 667 square meters). After completion, it will become a leading furnishing industry cluster by introducing more than 100 overseas renowned furnishing brands and top 500 domestic furnishing manufacturers. The annual sales will be over CNY 5 billion here.

The project will start construction shortly. The first phase, covering an area of 400,000 square meters, will commence business next September, and the second phase as well as the supporting projects including hotels will open in September 2008.
