Vodafone Netherlands, RIM introduce UMTS-enabled BlackBerry 8707v

Vodafone and Research In Motion (RIM) have introduced the UMTS-enabled BlackBerry 8707v in the Netherlands.

Customers of the BlackBerry 8707v will be able to make calls while simultaneously checking or sending emails, browsing the Internet or using other applications. The BlackBerry 8707v can also be used as a wireless modem for laptops.

Users will be able to view attachments in a number of file formats such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WordPerfect, PDF, ASCII, JPEG, GIF, BMP, TIFF and PNG. For text messaging, there is a full QWERTY keyboard designed especially for two-handed thumb typing.

The BlackBerry 8707v is available at Vodafone City Points.
