LSI forms OEM partnership with Terascala

May 20, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- LSI, a provider of silicon, systems and software technologies, has formed an original equipment manufacturer partnership with Terascala to increase storage sales in the high-performance computing market.

Under the terms of the agreement, the LSI Engenio 7900 high-performance computing (HPC) storage system will be integrated with the Terascala DTS 4000 parallel file storage appliance.

LSI said that the DTS 4000 is the parallel storage appliance designed for high-performance computing environments. It combines Terascala's expertise in parallel file systems and storage appliance development with the mixed workload performance, reliability and scalability of the LSI Engenio 7900 HPC storage system. The solution is designed to deliver the high levels of data integrity and application performance while bringing appliance simplicity to large-scale, high-performance, parallel storage systems.

Based on LSI seventh-generation XBB2 architecture, the 7900 HPC storage system is ideally suited for computing environments that store and utilize data for high-bandwidth and mixed-workload applications, according to LSI.
