Tech Data Introduces SunGard Availability Services To The Channel
CLEARWATER, Fla. --(Business Wire)--
The Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) Division of Tech Data (News - Alert) Corporation (NASDAQ:TECD) today announced it established a distribution agreement with SunGard Availability Services, a leading provider of information availability services. Through the AIS Division, Tech Data will enable value-added resellers (VARs) to incorporate SunGard's managed backup and disaster recovery services into the data center solutions they deploy and manage for end users of all sizes.

Tech Data distributes SunGard's Living Disaster Recovery Planning System (LDRPS®) and Virtual Server Replication (VSR). SunGard's LDRPS is a software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)) offering that guides users through the development of a continuity program to recover critical business data in the event of hardware failure, natural disaster or other unplanned business disruption. Tech Data offers resellers both LDRPS Essential On Demand and LDRPS Professional On Demand. LDRPS Essential is for organizations with less challenging business continuity planning requirements. LDRPS Professional includes more advanced, customizable features for more robust disaster recovery needs.
Tech Data customers also can offer SunGard's VSR service, which is a managed recovery solution for both physical and virtual Windows environments. VSR combines virtualization technology and SunGard's proprietary managed production services to deliver a cost effective solution ideal for primary applications with a less than six-hour recovery time.
