Cox Communications selects Qualcomm's BREW

Aug 24, 2009 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM) said on Friday that Cox Communications is to utilise BREW technology, for an undisclosed sum.

Cox will reportedly utilise the BREW technology to enable aspects of its mobile data experience.

Following the launch of Cox's wireless service, its wireless subscribers with BREW-enabled handsets will be able to download a wide variety of applications from categories such as games, tools, lifestyle, location, messaging and ringtones. Qualcomm will host the BREW service for Cox.

Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM) is a developer and deliverer of digital wireless communications products and services based on CDMA and other advanced technologies.
