(Messenger-Inquirer (Owensboro, KY) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Oct. 11--Directions Advertising Promotions has expanded into the Owensboro market and has hired Laura Alexander, an Owensboro native, as western Kentucky sales manager.
Alexander was previously membership services manager for the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce and before that, assistant director of sales at the Executive Inn Rivermont for eight years.
Cooper/T. Smith Corp., one of America's oldest and largest stevedoring and maritime-related firms, has appointed Maurice Owen managing director of inland terminal sales.
Owen will help the company develop new business opportunities on the nation's inland waterway system.
Prior to joining Cooper/T. Smith, Owen was manager of business development for Associated Terminals in Owensboro. He was port director of the Owensboro Riverport from 2000 to 2007.
He then founded Maurice Owen & Associates, where he provided strategic planning, logistics and development services to the inland river terminal industry.
Robert Cook, Atmos Energy's sales represent-ative, will be leading the marketing and sales initiatives for the industrial markets in Owensboro, Paducah, Madisonville and Princeton, as well as southern Illinois, Missouri and Iowa.
Cook received his bachelor's degree in business and economics from Arkansas Tech University. He and his wife Pam will continue living in Owensboro.
Brittany Lane has joined the sales team at Custom Audio-Video as a sales account represent-ative.
Her responsibilities include providing existing and new customers with information on the latest technology advances in the telecommunications and security industry.
Ron Ecleberry, vice president of sales and marketing for Modern Welding Co. Inc., is retiring effective Nov. 30, after 43 years with the company.
Tony Honey, vice president and manager of the Modern Welding Co. of Georgia Inc. subsidiary, will become vice president of sales and marketing at the corporate office in Owensboro.
He began his career at the Modern Welding Co. of Florida Inc. subsidiary in 1981 and has been a governmental affairs representative.
Steve Fort, manager of technical services of the company, will become vice president and manager of the Modern Welding Co. of Georgia Inc. subsidiary.
He began his career at Modern Welding in 1969 and has worked at Modern Supply Co. in Owensboro, Modern Welding Co. of Florida Inc. and Modern Welding Co. of Georgia Inc.
