Sonoco Recycling Inc to provide recycling services for City of Durham, N.C

Dec 23, 2009 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- Sonoco Recycling Inc declared on Tuesday the receipt of a contract to haul, sort and recycle residential and commercial materials for a duration of two years.

The customer is the City of Durham.

This new contract with Durham now brings the number of municipalities served by Sonoco Recycling in the area to 13. The company's MRF accepts and processes corrugated boxes and other grades of paper as well as metals, plastics and glass. It utilises most of that paperboard to produce new consumer and industrial packaging.

Sonoco Recycling Inc is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sonoco (NYSE:SON), a packaging services company.
