World's First Mac Cloud Computer Unveiled

Toronto, ON, Feb 08, 2010 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- The DiscCloud Social Network today announced the release of "Flurry", the desktop cloud infrastructure for Mac OS X.

Virtual desktop for Mac via DiscCloud exhibits superior server consolidation, utilization, and end user performance characteristics versus any Windows centric virtual desktop platform. Mac cloud users can enjoy a media rich, high performance experience of Mac applications over the Internet.

Media, content, and software providers can instantly deliver content and applications to end users, thus making the Mac desktop itself, the vehicle for on demand services.

DiscCloud's Flurry is built on VMware and works as a "plug in" into VMware Infrastructure. VMware service provider partners can therefore rapidly deploy cloud for Mac OS X Leopard, and Snow Leopard end users.

Attevo, best practices leader for Mac cloud service delivery, has developed jump start solutions for service providers desiring to offer Mac cloud. The first to offer Mac desktop cloud is SecureData 365, a regional managed service provider based in Canton, OH.

A private screening of Mac in the Cloud will be hosted by Attevo during MacWorld 2010.
