Polycom Receives Frost & Sullivan 2009 North America Best Practice Award for Customer Value Enhancement
PLEASANTON CA, Mar 31, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
Polycom, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLCM), the global leader in telepresence,
video and voice communication solutions, today announced that its
Polycom Architected Telepresence Experience(TM) (ATX) 300
customizable telepresence solution has been recognized by industry
analyst firm Frost & Sullivan with their North American Conferencing
Equipment Customer Value Enhancement Award.
The Customer Value Enhancement Award is a prestigious recognition of
Polycom's accomplishments in the conferencing equipment market. This
award acknowledges Polycom's focus on enhancing the value that its
customers receive, with its efforts to improve the return on
investment for customers.
"As one of the leading vendors in the videoconferencing/telepresence
industry, Polycom introduced the Polycom ATX 300 in 1H 2009 to
provide a middle ground for customers who desire the key elements of
the immersive telepresence experience but need customization for
specific use cases and meeting room requirements," said Krithi Rao,
industry analyst at Frost and Sullivan. "The Polycom ATX 300 solution
opens up telepresence to a much wider audience and offers flexibility
without compromise on quality and performance. This leads to wider
choice for customers, more opportunities for partners, and in turn
better growth prospects for Polycom."
The Polycom ATX 300 is a telepresence kit featuring technology
components and software that is combined with planning, design, and
implementation services from qualified AV integrator partners to
create customized solutions for a broad range of industries and
applications. The system can be used to create unique immersive
telepresence environments customized with displays, furniture,
lighting, acoustics, and decor. Even the touch panel controller can
be customized with logos, languages, style and color scheme, and can
control room elements such as lighting, window coverings, audio, and
multimedia content to rooms displays.
"The ability for people to see each other clearly and share
information and content instantly across distances can be applied to
virtually any industry to enhance collaboration, improve
productivity, and reduce costs," said Joe Sigrist, senior vice
president and general manager, video communications, Polycom. "With
the ability to customize telepresence for specific business needs,
Polycom and its certified partners are helping customers create
exciting new applications that are transforming how they operate and
expanding what is possible in their businesses."
The Polycom ATX 300 is part of a comprehensive portfolio of Polycom
