Common Cents Mobile Expands with Additional 500 Walmart Store Locations

Sep 01, 2010 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- To help meet the demands of the prepaid market, Common Cents Mobile has announced its expansion into an additional 500 Walmart stores, including new markets such as Chicago/Central Illinois, New Orleans, Cincinnati and Washington, D.C.

With this retail growth, Common Cents Mobile said that it will be readily available to customers visiting nearly 1,250 Walmart stores throughout the country.

Launched in May, Common Cents Mobile is a pay-as-you-go service offering Round Down minutes, allowing budget-conscious consumers to pay for only what they use -- or even less. With one of the lowest rates in the marketplace -- 7 cents per minute, day or night1, weekday or weekend, which "Round Down" after the first minute -- consumers save time and money while staying connected.

"Smartphones come with bells and whistles like Web browsing and music -- features that for many, are simply unnecessary and can be seen as a waste of time and money," said Neil Lindsay, chief marketing officer, Common Cents Mobile. "According to data from a recent survey of Common Cents Mobile customers, the single most important reason for selecting Common Cents Mobile was by far the superior value of the service. Two in every three customers mentioned this as the most important reason for their selection."2 To celebrate the expansion into additional Walmart stores, Common Cents Mobile said that it will now offer new customers an additional 200 'Bonus Minutes'3 for domestic use, when they refill their phone for the first time. Bonus Minutes work just like 'regular minutes' for Common Cents: Bonus Minutes also Round Down (after the first minute). Therefore, if customers talk for 3 minutes and 23 seconds, only 3 minutes will be deducted from their bonus minute total -- giving the customers even more talk time.

Common Cents Mobile, one of Sprint's prepaid brands, offers no-nonsense wireless service with 7-cent minutes that Round Down, not up, and 7-cent messaging (text, picture messaging, e-mail and IM) -- without a long-term contract.
