Verizon Wireless adds new cell sites to expand 3G network coverage in New York State

Sep 03, 2010 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- US mobile network operator Verizon Wireless said on Thursday that it has added new cell sites to expand 3G network coverage in Essex County and Clinton County, New York State.

A new cell site in North Elba improves coverage and capacity along Route 86 from Swiss Road to Route 35, Route 35 from Route 86 to Averyville Road, and on Peninsula Road in the Town of Lake Placid.

Meanwhile a new cell site in Plattsburgh improves coverage and capacity on I-87 from Exit 39 to Exit 40, Route 9 from Route 22 to Route 314, and on Cumberland Head.

Last year Verizon Wireless invested more than USD100m in Upstate New York.


Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) (Nasdaq:VZ) and Vodafone (LSE:VOD) (Nasdaq:VOD).
