EDITORIAL: Workweek: How Many Days?

Sep 15, 2010 (Richmond Times-Dispatch - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The eight-hour day, five-day workweek did not descend from Sinai. Numerous employers practice a workweek of four 10-hour days. Others employ so-called flex time. Telecommuting has changed traditional schedules as well.

Gov. Bob McDonnell's government reform panel has recommended a four-day workweek for agencies where the change would not have a negative impact on essential services. We second the motion.
