Enviance Customers Experience Zero Impact as Power Outage Takes Down Southern California

CARLSBAD, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Enviance, Inc., a global provider of Environmental ERP (EERP) solutions that measure, manage, report and reduce environmental and regulatory risks, confirmed today that its customers in 49 countries enjoyed uninterrupted access to its cloud-based applications despite last week's 12-hour power blackout that cut off power to five million people in the Southwest, from San Diego to Yuma, Arizona and parts of Mexico. While all of San Diego Gas & Electric Company's 1.4 million home and business customers lost power, the execution of an exceptional back-up power plan and system redundancy plan kept Enviance operations running to continue service to its global customer base.

Thanks to partners such as American Internet Services (News - Alert) (AIS), which provides enterprise-class data center and connectivity services, including managed and network services, colocation, and disaster recovery solutions, Enviance was able to sustain power at its sites and keep its customers' cloud services up and running throughout the outage. Enviance customers depend on the company's EERP system for on-demand access to sensitive environmental performance, compliace and operational data critical to managing business risk.

"At American Internet Services (AIS), we understand the level of redundancy and advanced Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity/Data Availability planning that customers like Enviance need to serve their global customer base," said Tim Caulfield, chief executive officer at AIS. "Our premium, enterprise-class data centers have been architected for high availability which includes having generators, onsite fuel storage and fuel supply contracts in place to cover when events like Thursday's outage occur. We are proud that Enviance has placed their faith in us to make sure that their global customers can always access the system."

"Enviance promises 7x24x365 global availability to our customers, and we guarantee this by having cradle to desktop visibility into our system delivery chain and a well-engineered redundancy and contingency plan that addresses potential disruptions," said Joe Dunkerton, IT director at Enviance. "Our customers were unscathed by last week's blackout because our internet provider, American Internet Services, had not only backup generators, but on-site fuel and a backup fuel supply to keep their generators running-all requirements we validated in a pre-contract audit that is part of our standard operating procedure. "

"Overcoming this obstacle truly illustrates the strength of our back up plan and how well prepared we are to execute it," said Lawrence Goldenhersh, president and CEO at Enviance. "It's all part of the promise we make with our cloud-based system - global, connected and always on."
