In 2003, The Associated Press introduced live broadcasting via satellite, and today delivers breaking news to nearly 200 broadcasters worldwide. To meet the growing global demand for live digital content, for the first time ever, APTN Direct is delivered online via AP's partnership with Streamworks, whose proprietary encoding technology delivers the very best picture quality to online, mobile and tablet devices. Uninterrupted feeds are supplied at multiple bitrates and distributed across multiple content delivery networks to ensure efficient global reach and stable broadcast.
