Josh E. Smith Joins Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions to Expand the Firm's Growth in the US Higher Education Marketplace

Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions, LLC, a division of Balfour Beatty Capital Group, Inc, and a provider of development, management, and other real estate services to colleges, universities, or their affiliated entities, announced that Josh E. Smith has joined the company. As Vice President, Mr. Smith will be responsible for expanding the reach of the company nationwide.

Mr. Smith will focus on assisting higher education institutions in bridging the gap between necessary infrastructure improvements, such as building and renovation plans, and the resources and capital needed to execute those plans. With his proven track record, Mr. Smith will work to craft customized financing solutions to execute building and renovation plans for administrative space, academic buildings, laboratories, athletic facilities, wellness centers and student housing.

Most recently, Mr. Smith served as the Vice President of Development for Collegiate Companies, a turnkey real estate services company specializing in student housing. In this role, he was responsible for business development, real estate development, and project management of student housing nationwide, including the arrangement of alternative methods of financing.

Previously, Mr. Smith worked as the Director of Development and Leasing for Jackson Development, where he oversaw the development, leasing, and asset management of shopping centers, offices, and mixed-use developments in the areas of northern Texas and Oklahoma.

Mr. Smith received his master's degree in Real Estate from the University of Texas at Arlington, and his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. He is affiliated with the Association of Collegiate and University Housing Officers, National Association of Collegiate and University Business Officers, Society of College and University Planners, and is a member of The Real Estate Council and the Urban Land Institute.
