HomePlug® Alliance Underscores 2012 Momentum for Interoperable Networking Solutions at COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2012

The HomePlug (News - Alert)® Alliance (www.homeplug.org), the worldwide industry group for powerline communications networking, is hosting Technology Update sessions this week at COMPUTEX 2012, including demonstrations of interoperable, HomePlug certified products from leading networking technology vendors.

Key session topics include:

• HomePlug technology in today's market: HomePlug AV, HomePlug Green PHY for Smart Energy management, HomePlug industry endorsements and adoptions
• The Future of Home Networking: HomePlug AV2, IEEE 1905.1, and interoperability among smart energy and multimedia networks
• Netricity PLC for smart grid to meter connectivity

The sessions will underscore how the market success achieved by HomePlug AV validates and propels HomePlug's technology roadmap for next generation speeds, hybrid home networking, and interoperable multimedia and smart energy devices on a single network. Companies worldwide have included HomePlug technologies in over 100 million devices, and the work of the alliance has grown to include a complete set of HomePlug technology standards to meet today's and tomorrow's demands.

Key themes for these HomePlug sessions are HomePlug's 2012 momentum towards delivering interoperable next generation powerline speeds with HomePlug AV2 and seamless integration with Wi-Fi by inclusion in the IEEE 1905.1 hybrid networking standard.

In addition to the HomePlug Alliance sessions, the significant presence of HomePlug member companies at COMPUTEX signifies the accelerating market adoption of HomePlug technology.
