Black Duck Software Names Security Expert Bill Ledingham as Chief Technology Officer

Black Duck Software, the leading OSS Logistics solutions provider enabling the adoption and management of open source software (OSS), today announced the appointment of Bill Ledingham to Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Executive Vice President of Engineering.

A 30-year industry veteran, Ledingham will guide the company's technology vision and product strategy to further improve the performance and usability of Black Duck's breakthrough OSS Logistics solutions. He will also work closely with Lou Shipley, President and CEO of Black Duck, to grow the company's base of enterprise IT customers and address new markets with a SaaS (News - Alert) model.

Ledingham most recently served as CTO of Verdasys (News - Alert), a provider of data risk management and information security solutions for Fortune 1000 companies and the government. During his six-year tenure at Verdasys, Ledingham led engineering, product management, OEM relationship, customer support, and IT functions.

Prior to Verdasys, he served in senior engineering, business development, and product development positons at three other software companies, two of which were purchased by larger entities, and one which went public.
