City of San Jose Expands CIS Infinity's Presence in Northern California

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 28 August 2014 Release date- 26082014 - San Jose, CA and Toronto, ON - Advanced Utility Systems, a division of N. Harris Computer Corporation (Advanced), is excited to announce that the City of San Jose, California (the City) has selected Advanced's flagship and award-winning customer information and billing system, CIS Infinity.

As the third largest City in California, the City of San Jose is the county seat to Santa Clara County and is the largest City in Silicon Valley. With a population of over 980,000, the City provides wastewater, stormwater and recycle plus services to over 210,000 customers. The City also serves a portion of its community with water service.

During the fall of 2013, the City released a public Request for Proposal (RFP) for the replacement of their existing customer information and billing system. The existing system was originally implemented in 2006 and was highly customized in order to accommodate the unique billing requirements of the City. Through its RFP process, the City allowed vendors to propose multiple CIS systems to accommodate its four billing services. However, the City's preference was for a single application that would meet all of its CIS needs. The City also required that the CIS provide extensive reporting, rates management, collections functionality and workflow automation.

The City's evaluation team received over 10 proposals from vendors. Four vendors were selected to move forward in the RFP process and present in-depth and on-site software demonstrations to the City. After thorough evaluation meetings and reference checks, the team unanimously agreed that the Advanced Utility Systems solution was the most advantageous and would provide the best value to the City. The City's decision was based on Advanced's track record of successful implementations, competitive pricing, its robust project management approach as well as the ease of use and billing strengths of CIS Infinity.

The implementation of CIS Infinity has already kicked off with Advanced and the City meeting an aggressive kick-off date after completing a comprehensive contracting process.

Peter Fanous, Executive Vice President for Advanced, comments: 'California has more Advanced customers than any other state. The City of San Jose represents another addition to our expanding customer base and proves our ability to accommodate the specific requirements of utilities within California. CIS Infinity is an excellent fit for the City's unique and multi-service billing requirements.' He goes on to say, 'We are excited to have this opportunity to partner with the City and its staff for a successful implementation and to establish a great relationship that will serve the City well into the future.'
