Week 1 of National Cyber Security Awareness Month 2015: Cybergy Holdings Reflections on 5 Years of Stop.Think.Connect™ Campaign

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month and presents an annual opportunity to focus on why cybersecurity matters and how everyone can take steps to ensure that they and their loved ones are cyber safe. It includes a series of weekly themes that this year starts with "General Cybersecurity Awareness: 5 Years of Stop.Think.Connect™", a reference to the national public awareness campaign run by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) intended to increase Americans' awareness of cyber-threats and empower them to be safer and more secure online.

Cybergy Holdings (OTCQB: CYBG), a national leader in cybersecurity, smart grid, and clean energy technologies and services for governmental and commercial clients, understands the criticality of improving Americans' awareness of cybersecurity and strongly supports these efforts to get everyone who uses the Internet to practice safe online behavior - not just in October but year round.

"Cybersecurity is the paramount security issue of the early 21st Century," said Wyly Wade, Chief Technology Officer for Cybergy Holdings and Cybergy Labs. "Being safe in cyber space must take into account the most susceptible and often weakest link in cyber-defenses, the actual human users of the Internet."

Mr. Wade noted that the design of the campaign focuses squarely on the individual user where most attacks are targeted. "From our perspective, this is exactly the right approach. In our own efforts, Cybergy is working on developing cybersecurity technologies and services such as our propriety SmartFile system that empowers individuals to track their sensitive, private data in cyber space."

Terry DiVittorio, Vice President, Cyber Operations for Cybergy Labs, agreed that the multi-faceted Stop.Think.Connect approach fit well with Cybergy's perspective for enhancing cybersecurity.

"The unpredictability of the human factor continues to be one of the biggest challenges Chief Information Security Officers face in providing sound risk management and security throughout their organizations' enterprises. Raising and sustaining user awareness of the security dangers in cyber space must be a key pillar in every organizations cybersecurity program," said Mr. DiVittorio. "This important program component requires continual updating with new cyber threat and vulnerability information and must be supported by security policies and procedures that are enforced when violations or deviations occur."

While the frequency and magnitude of cyberattacks and cyber-breaches has been growing, Cybergy Holdings is committed to helping realize the vision of a more cyber-secure "Internet of Everything." Through the launch of the company's SmartFile electronic document tagging system and their Managed Security Services Provider (MSS) platform, Cybergy is providing its clients adaptive defensive strategies and proactive security solutions to better manage risk and further mitigate "user-invoked" vulnerabilities.

"Five years from now when the Stop.Think.Connect campaign celebrates its 10th year, I think we will have seen a dramatic shift in user awareness and Internet security," said Mark Gray, Chairman and CEO of Cybergy Holdings. "Today, society is at a tipping point in addressing intellectual property, privacy, and cybersecurity-and as you push through moments like this, that's when you have a breakthrough. That's what Cybergy is-we're passionate about solving some of the world's most challenging problems."
