Recently Funded Startup, BikeCleanse Aims to Save More Than Billion Liters of Water Through its Automated Motorbike Washing Machines

MUMBAI, May 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --

Cleanse Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. aims to be the pioneer in automated cleaning and environment-friendly technologies. It manufactures and operates automated bike washing machines under the brand of BikeCleanse. Its current solution is a compact and a fully automated bike washing machine capable of efficiently washing all two-wheelers, including mopeds, motorbikes, scooters and even super bikes within 2 minutes. The machine, which is manufactured at the company's facility in Hyderabad, is integrated with a water recycling unit which drastically reduces wastage of water and also maintains the pH value of water for effective and safe bike washing. A single machine recycles up to 95% of water and effectively uses around 7 liters per wash compared to a manual wash, which consumes around 50-100 liters per wash.

With each machine expected to save almost half a million liters of water per year, BikeCleanse intends to save billions of liters of water currently wasted on bike washing activities in India. Additionally, shortage of laborand increase in costs for physically demanding jobs such as cleaning have created a large demand for automated washing in the world's second largest two-wheeler market, which consists of more than 130 million motorbikes.

BikeCleanse has already sold 15 franchises which will be operational by May and aims to become one of the largest franchise brands in the country due to the low franchise investment of approximately INR 8 lakhs and its scalability. It has appointed a master franchise for the state of Gujarat that has a commitment of 150 machines in a year.

The company currently has 4 of its 'instant motorbike care' stores operational in Hyderabad.

Apart from the franchise model, the company has developed a service center model machine, which has been designed after working with Hero and Yamaha service centers in Hyderabad. The machine, which uses an L-shaped conveyor that rotates 270 degrees around the motorbike, is the first of its kind and was successfully tested in February after months of R&D and will be launched in May.

The company has entered into technical collaboration with authorized service centers of two-wheeler companies and recently signed an MOU with Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) and HPCL to set-up machines across select petrol pumps.

BikeCleanse has recently secured its seed round of funding to expand its operations pan India and foray into Indonesia.
