WTL Receives Repeat Order from Belgian ISP edpnet which chose its VOIP system over offerings from Ericsson and Cisco

17 October 2016 – World Telecom Labs (WTL) today announced that it is supplying additional equipment to edpnet, a fast-growing and innovative ISP in Belgium.

Edpnet originally provided data to residential customers, however, following strong demand it expanded into voice and has been using WTL’s SoIP Gateways to interconnect with the networks of Proximus. A range of attractive features have made its service popular; calls to other edpnet customers are free and there are no connection fees for any call. Add-ons like number identification, call forwarding and voice mail to e-mail are all included.

Edpnet has expanded steadily and is now offering services to both business and residential customers in Belgium and The Netherlands.

WTL has recently supplied edpnet with more of its award-winning VoIP switches as well as a multi-service SBC for both SS7 interconnect and SIP to SIP traffic. These will all help edpnet to continue to offer high-quality voice calls to its expanding customer base.

Joachim Slabbaert, Chief Operations Officer, said “We have never regretted our decision to use WTL’s equipment instead of Cisco or Ericsson. I am constantly impressed with the team’s ability to develop and deliver new features which I have requested in a timely fashion. We are expanding rapidly and the reliability of WTL has been key to our past success and essential for our future growth.” WTL’s SoIP and VoIP switches have been deployed by operators throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas that are using VoIP to compete with incumbent suppliers.

WTL has consistently won awards for its high levels of innovation. Its SoIP software is also available as a service (SaaS model).

Leigh Smith, MD of WTL, said “Operators around the world are now looking to VoIP as a cost-effective way of increasing voice capacity and improving service reliability. We have carved a real niche for ourselves as an innovative and award-winning company which prides itself on being responsive to our customer’s needs.” About World Telecom Labs (WTL) Headquartered in Belgium with offices in Nigeria, Brazil and the UK, WTL helps operators to deploy cost-effective, reliable voice and data networks for both rural and urban environments.
