IronClad Encryption's ICE Phone Enables Ultra-Secure Communications with No Change to Audio and Call Quality

IronClad Encryption Corporation (OTCQB: IRNC) today announced that its ultra-secure ICE Phone (News - Alert) passed a series of performance tests run by embedded software development firm PollenTech Oy. The tests clearly demonstrate that IronClad's encryption algorithms are stable, reliable and add little performance overhead during encrypted VoIP calls. In fact, the overhead to encrypt and decrypt a call is so minimal that encrypted calls sound as natural as standard unencrypted calls.

"U.S. special forces, intelligence agencies, government agencies and certain high net worth individuals need the ability to communicate securely. Given the content and timeframe sensitivity of such communications, a phone that operates as reliably as a secure landline is essential," said JD McGraw, president and CEO of IronClad Encryption. "PollenTech's recent testing validates we are on track to deliver the kind of product our target markets demand."

The tests focused on aspects of cell phone performance that tend to degrade during added loads like encryption including CPU and memory usage, and system-level latency. These factors, especially in combination, tend to cause unacceptable latencies, poor voice quality, and in some cases, even dropped calls. Such negative outcomes can be at best frustrating for end users, and at worst dangerous for military, intelligence, and government personnel. The testing was conducted by encrypting a call on a phone in PollenTech's Finland offices and transmitting the call to a DigitalOcean server in New York via intercontinental ocean fiber. The DigitalOcean server then rerouted the call back to a second phone in PollenTech's offices that decrypted the call. This exceptionally long distance was intentionally chosen to test the audio and call quality, with and without encryption, in a high latency environment. The duration of each call was approximately two hours.

"Not surprisingly, higher levels of encryption lead to additional processing latencies that, if too high, can degrade call quality," said Marko Vainio, Chief Technology Officer at PollenTech Oy. "We ran a suite of tests to quantify how the phone's design and encryption algorithms impacted performanc. We can now report that the phone was able to continuously encrypt and decrypt calls in a robust fashion, and that the added latency due to encryption was far less than the nominal network latencies of 300ms to 550ms measured during the intercontinental unencrypted test call. In fact, the added encryption latency on top of the nominal network latencies was so slight as to be auditorily imperceptible by our test engineers. To achieve this level of security while maintaining audio clarity and call quality proves that IronClad's technology is computationally efficient and truly unique."

IronClad Encryption and PollenTech are currently developing an ultra-secure, ultra-rugged mobile phone platform based on IronClad Encryption's perpetual encryption key management technology. PollenTech personnel have architected a broad range of cellular handsets that have been produced in very high volumes. IronClad Encryption's ICE Phone will be built by Sonim Technologies, who produces the world's most rugged mobile phones used by civil emergency services as well as military personnel.

About IronClad Encryption Corporation:

IronClad Encryption Corporation is a next-generation cyber defense company that secures digital assets and communications across a wide range of industries and technologies. IronClad Encryption-powered solutions utilize our patented Dynamic Encryption and Perpetual Authentication technologies to make all known key-based encryption technologies virtually impossible to compromise. Dynamic Encryption Technology eliminates vulnerabilities caused by exposure of any single encryption key by continuously changing encryption keys and keeping the keys synchronized in a fault-tolerant manner. Perpetual Authentication Technology uses multiple virtual channels for encryption so that in the event one channel is compromised, the other channels maintain encryption integrity. Together, these technologies not only eliminate the single point of failure problem created by having keys exposed through brute force, side channel, or other types of attack, but do so with very low latency and system performance overhead. Developers, MSPs, MSSPs, and IT organizations can now easily and effectively integrate ultra-secure authentication and encryption measures across essentially all mediums. This includes the latest processors and operating systems, legacy hardware and software, within or between networks, and on compartmentalized data or entire databases. At rest or in-motion, IronClad Encryption ensures data remains safe, secure and uncompromised.
