AnyDATA to Develop Modules and USB modems for LightSquared LTE Network

AnyDATA Corporation, specializing in the design and manufacture of wireless communications devices, announced that it will develop modules and USB modems for the LightSquared LTE network.

Company sources explained that these innovative AnyDATA LTE devices will enable a new generation of consumer electronic and industrial M2M products to offer wireless broadband connection anywhere within continental United States.

The AnyDATA wireless devices will operate on the LightSquared L-band satellite network that leverages the EGAL or Enhanced Geostationary Air Link technology, as well as its terrestrial LTE network. It is expected to be available in 2011.

Also the AnyDATA LTE modules and modems will operate on existing cellular networks that utilize HSPA/HSUPA/HSDPA as well as GSM/GPRS/EDGE technologies.

Company officials explained that the module will utilize industry standard USB 2.0 interface and mini-PCIE form factor to simplify integration of the module into netbooks, notebooks, tablets, and other consumer electronic devices. It also will be suitable for industrial products for M2M wireless communications.  The AnyDATA wireless module can be used for portable computing devices to offer truly ubiquitous, high-speed Internet connectivity.

The AnyDATA USB modem enables existing portable computers to connect to the LightSquared network at high speeds similar to that of a wired broadband Internet connection. The USB modem offers connectivity to the LightSquared network to enable wireless subscribers to benefit from the fast Internet browsing and file transfers with optimum coverage.

In a press release, Martin Harriman, executive VP for Ecosystem Development and Satellite Business for LightSquared, said, “We are pleased to work with AnyDATA to enable a broad range of devices on the LightSquared network that also support our terrestrial roaming partners. Device manufacturers for consumer and industrial products will have the ease of interfacing with industry standard modules that enable their devices to have ubiquitous coverage.”

Commenting on AnyDATA Corporation, Dr. Soon B. Shin, CEO of the company, said that it is capable of offering innovative wireless products as exemplified by the company’s LTE devices. AnyDATA Corporation designs and manufactures wireless modules and communications devices, including real-time tracking devices, USB modems, and smartphones.

“We have a history of developing advanced technology products, so are well equipped to provide modules and modems that have EGAL satellite as well as terrestrial LTE wireless and 3G communications. We look forward to using this technology with the LightSquared network to deliver fast and reliable wireless connectivity,” Dr. Shin continued.
