ZTE's President of the North America region and CEO of ZTE U.S.A, Lixin Cheng, recently addressed businesses and public policy leaders at the Georgia-China Alliance's conference China's Global Outlook 2012.
Cheng had some bold claims, stating that since ZTE entered the U.S. market, the company's supply chain has totalled more than $13.7 billion in a number of leading technology corporations, adding that ZTE will sustain the investment with 10 percent annual growth.
He also predicted continued growth for ZTE in the smartphone market with increased adoption of ZTE devices in the U.S. leading the way. It seems like a strong possibility considering ZTE is now the fourth largest mobile device manufacturer.
Cheng went on to add that ZTE U.S.A is committed to investing in the U.S. market by leveraging "American innovation and Chinese manufacturing." Indeed, ZTE has a history of supporting U.S. companies and has established relationships with a number of U.S. companies from different sectors of the technology world.
“From opening research and development centers to working with a wide range of wireless companies to develop new products, ZTE is committed to expanding the U.S. market through continuous. investments. Put simply, we believe Chinese investment in the U.S. is beneficial for businesses in both countries,” said Cheng in a press release. “At ZTE, our mission is to help people around the world connect with one another in meaningful and affordable ways. We are proud to provide high-quality, high-performance and reasonably priced mobile products to help bring people closer together.”
Since entering the U.S. in 2007, ZTE has launched 35 products to businesses and consumers and opened 10 offices, five R&D locations and one logistics center across the country, with 400 employees in North America.
ZTE recently unveiled its LTE BeamHop solution and demonstrated its LTE A8808 Active Antenna System (AAS) product based on this technology. Meanwhile, the company partnered with Anite, a wireless equipment testing provider, to successfully complete the first TD-LTE/TD-SCDMA Inter-RAT conformance test cases.
