Procera Awarded Multi-Million Dollar Project

Procera Network Inc., has received an initial multi-million dollar order from a Tier 1 mobile operator in the Asia-Pacific. This is the first order for a multi-year project for a network-wide deployment, where Procera will be providing leading edge Intelligent Policy Enforcement (IPE) solutions.

Procera Network Inc., delivers Intelligent Policy Enforcement (IPE) solutions designed for high-end enterprises, carriers and service providers.

The Tier 1 APAC Mobile operator, which has engaged Procera, is experiencing rapid growth on its network. In order to manage tens of millions of its mobile subscribers and to provide them new services, it will leverage Procera’s advanced policy creation capabilities and fine grained analytics. Procera is expected to recognize revenue related to this order in the third quarter of 2012. The revenue is greater than 10 percent of the total revenue of the company in the quarter. Procera with this new addition now caters to more than 30 mobile operators.

Brian Ahearn, senior vice-president of worldwide sales at Procera, said that this mobile operator has seen a dramatic increase in video streaming of user generated and licensed content, as well as live broadcast programming. He added that this has driven the need to understand its subscribers' video usage, in order to offer value-added video services that create incremental revenue over base data plan quotas and provide a consistently high quality of service. Ahearn also added that this was critical as the operator's network incorporates 4G bandwidth speeds that encourage video streaming. He also felt that this growing trend is ideally suited for Procera's massively scalable IPE solutions to analyze and monetize.

Procera was selected after a rigorous evaluation process. Procera’s PacketLogic IPE solutions have the ability to scale efficiently to meet the Tier 1 carrier’s need for the present and for future and that capability clinched the deal for Procera. The deployment will require high scalability on the policy management control and high performance and functionality from the IPE solution to allow for personalized service of tens of millions of its subscribers as part of the 3GPP Policy and Charging Control architecture.

It is currently deployed by more the 700 customers who are appreciative of the PacketLogic solution and value its high-end performance and value its unparalleled accuracy.
