Mobile Fun Starts to Establish a Stronger International Footprint

Earlier this week, for the year ending 31st March 2012, the UK’s leading online retailer of mobile accessories, Mobile Fun, announced impressive revenue of £10 million. Against the backdrop of a challenging economic environment in the UK, this represents a 10 percent increase on FY2011. Over the next financial year, the company is on course to hit sales of £12+ million.

To join its established portfolio in the UK, France and Germany, Mobile Fun launched new websites in Spain and The Netherlands, while doing so, its international sales jumped by 161 percent to £3.4 million. The company also branched out into adjacent markets with its LoveCases brand, which has sustained month-on-month growth since its launch in November 2011.Moreover, in December 2011, with its first “million month” thanks to over £1.1million worth of festive sales, the online retailer experienced a record breaking Christmas period.

“Despite the UK economy experiencing negative growth for most of the last financial year, our continued international expansion has seen us achieve enviable progress,” said Mohammed Hussain, Managing Director of Mobile Fun.

He added that the company started strongly in the 2011-12 financial year with a profitable presence in three of the largest countries worldwide for ecommerce. However, for Mobile Fun, its roll out of further European websites started to establish a stronger international footprint.

With analysts such as ABI Research predicting the global smartphone accessories market growing to $38 billion in revenue by 2017, it is capitalizing on this trend by rolling out further international websites. Italy, Australia, Canada, India and the USA are part of its recent launches.

Especially as website visits are growing month-on-month, in 2012-13, Mobile Fun anticipates delivering yet another year of profitable growth. Its websites received 3.1 million visits in September 2012 which is an uplift of 62 percent over September 2011 as well as a new record for Mobile Fun.
