Apple Files Patent for New Magnetic System for the iPad

Apple is trying new and inventive ways to take advantage of the iPad and recent patent filings show that the company is especially looking for ways to use a magnet to attach the tablet to different objects. The iPad is one of those devices that has developed quite a bit since it was released in 2010. The newest patent filing shows that Apple is looking for ways to magnetically attach the device to a treadmill or even a car dash.

The patent filing could also find ways to hook two iPads together or even turn it into some kind of console gaming device. In truth, it would seem that once Apple cracks the code for this kind of a device, there isn’t a limit to what could potentially be done with it.

The patent, in particular, is working on a stand, which could be used for a couple of different things. One has to think that photographers and videographers would like to be able to set up their iPad movie making apps and then just let it run, rather than having to carry the thing around for an entire event.

It seems like there would be a whole host of different uses you could come up with that have to do with the education field, if the stand could be used to relieve some of the pressure of holding onto the device all the time.

The dual iPad stand might be the most useful approach to this kind of technology. Fitness buffs could hook the iPad onto a treadmill, for a hands-free exercise routine. One would think people might actually buy an iPad simply to have a new accessory to take to the gym with them.
