Kextil Receives Seed Funding from Innovation Works

Voice enabled mobile workforce software provider Kextil recently obtained seed funding from Pittsburgh-based venture capital and business mentoring firm Innovation Works.

The investment will aid in the development of Kextil's software, the deployment of the software to multiple mobile platforms and the growth of its customer base. Kextil provides Global Field Services organizations with a cost-effective, quick and efficient voice-based solution through its ability to capture voice commands in real time. This will allow technicians to be guided through the entire maintenance and repair process and have the opportunity to ask questions if necessary.

"Innovation Works represents more than just a source of expansion capital for Kextil," Jonathan Berman, founder and CEO of Kextil, said in a statement.  "Innovation Works is a strategic investor and their investment is recognized as a seal of approval for Pennsylvania-based companies. Innovation Works' portfolio companies have an outstanding record of attracting follow on institutional funding, and we are excited to be working with them to accelerate Kextil's growth."

Innovation Works made the decision to provide funding to Kextil based on what the company stands for.

"Kextil is clearly an innovator in the Field Services Automation market space," Richard Lunak, president and CEO for Innovation Works, said in a statement. "We believe in their vision of changing the way Field Service work is performed – making each field tech more productive and cost-effective. Simultaneously, Kextil's spoken dialog innovations position it well in a hot space that is attracting venture capital and strategic investment."

Kextil is certainly not the only company Innovation Works has invested it. Since 1999, the company has invested over $60 million in more than 350 companies. Recent companies have included RessQ Technologies, ActivAided Orthotics, AutoRef, ShowClix, Tunessence, SenSevere, Xactix and FutureDerm, all of which received a combined $825,000 in funding between last November and December.
