ExteNet Systems announced that it has worked out a deal with four leading wireless carriers. ExteNet will be able to offer up its high level live network service to MetroPCS, AT&T, Sprint and Verizon Wireless. This live network service will be rolled out in the new Barclays Center that is located in Brooklyn, New York. The 675,000-squre foot sports and entertainment venue will host more than 200 different events in its first year in operation.
ExteNet systems will make it possible for any of the 19,000 different people who will be able to attend any one of these events the ability to have a truly connected experience. By running this network throughout the facility, people will be able to get a true multimedia experience no matter what wireless carrier they are using.
Ross Manire, who is the president and the CEO of ExteNet, talked about his company’s agreement in a recent release.
“Barclays Center is a state-of-the-art venue, and ensuring network success while overseeing the diverse and time sensitive needs of multiple parties under tight deadlines, played to ExteNet’s strengths,” Manire said. We are very proud to be a participant in this project and look forward to continuing to serve Barclays Center for the long term.”
Manire added that his company’s goal is to provide patrons and sports fans with an enhanced in-arena experience. The New Jersey Nets calls the Barclay’s Center home during the NBA season and the fans of the team will apparently be seeing quite a few different ways in which the arena will work to make it a full, multimedia experience to people who bring in their mobile devices.
The four wireless carriers that will be taking advantage of this high level network have also released statements talking about how excited they are to have the new contracts that will allow them all to work side by side in the arena.
