Sprint Data Link and Static IP Now Operate Over 4G LTE

Sprint's Data Link and Static IP networking services recently became available over the Sprint 4G LTE network, expanding the reach of both services and making it easier for businesses and government agencies to deploy, manage and extend their networks to modems, tablets and smartphones. Both products will use 4G LTE data if available, but will operate just fine over 3G if 4G isn't available.

Sprint Data Link supports the push toward mobile in the enterprise by allowing mobile employees to connect to a corporate enterprise WAN over a private virtual network for access to critical data while on the go. This service boasts both a 99.9 percent availability service level agreement (SLA) and support from a wide range of 3G/4G-capable devices, from handsets and tablets, to laptops and mobile broadband cards.

Data Link can be used in a number of ways, including setting up retail kiosks, seasonal storefronts, temporary offices, lottery terminals and wireline backups, as well as for remote monitoring and home healthcare.

Sprint Static IP, meanwhile, makes it easier for companies to manage remote wireless devices — M2M applications, smartphones and tablets — by assigning the same IP address to a device each time it accesses the Internet. Businesses can even purchase a sequential range of IP addresses, making device deployment and firewall configuration that much easier.

Making Data Link and Static IP available on its 4G LTE network is part of the Sprint Network Vision, which includes the nationwide rollout of a new 3G/4G network, offering better wireless signal strength and in-building coverage with fewer drops. Sprint has partnered with a number of companies, such as NetCracker Technology, in order to achieve these goals.

“Sprint Data Link and Static IP provide businesses with highly effective tools to deploy and manage wireless devices,” said John Dupree, senior vice president of business sales at Sprint. “We are well-positioned to meet the demand for reliable, secure mobile data as our business customers take advantage of new technology, chipsets, devices and applications.”
