PlayOn Now Available on Blackberry 10 Platform

The media server company PlayOn is now bringing its offerings to the Blackberry 10 platform; the new app for Blackberry 10 marks another step by the Canadian smartphone maker toward taking on Android and iOS at their own game. With PlayOn’s ability to stream video services to the Blackberry 10 phones, Blackberry is providing people another reason to want to get those phones.

The PlayOn app allows Blackberry 10 users to access video streaming services like HBO Go, Hulu and Netflix. PlayOn customers can access more than 60 different channels. The software first needs to be installed on a Windows PC, where it will browse through the content that is available through the various channels. Once the mobile app has been installed and activated, users will be able to view that content with the PlayOn service, whether they are at home using their Wi-Fi connection or on the go using a 4G or 3G connection.

Jeff Lawrence, CEO of MediaMall Technologies, said in a recent statement, "With our new PlayOn app for BlackBerry, we are excited to extend PlayOn's benefits to BlackBerry 10 smartphone customers, including first-time access to all the great content of Netflix, Hulu, CBS and HBO GO. Blackberry 10 users can get a 30-day trial for PlayOn on the Windows PC. Users can then either sign up for a lifetime subscription for $49.99 or a yearly subscription for $24.99.
