Mitel Forms Brand-new Global MiCloud Sales Team

Miltel, a global provider of unified communications and collaboration (UCC) software and services that offers solutions via cloud or on premises, has announced the appointment of Steve Kelly as leader of the new global sales team for cloud solutions.

Founded in 1973, Miltel is present in over 100 countries and provides UCC services and solutions to organizations that want to conduct their business anywhere and through any media.

Through its Freedom architecture, Miltel strives to give businesses “an in-office experience, anywhere.” In fact, it allows business applications to be accessed from any location and through any devices, from desktop computers to mobile devices. The solution which is based on a single cloud-ready software stream, features great interoperability and integration (for example messages can be consolidated from many different voice mail boxes) and allows users much flexibility through the possibility of switching from one device to the other in a seamless way.

The solution provides the agility needed by today’s companies. In fact, the Freedom architecture allows companies to integrate the product with their existing technology as it works with any platform, network or environment (even virtualized). It is ideal for today's dynamic work environment; for example, it recently delivered a virtualized telephony solution for Princess Yachts, a British motor yacht manufacturer, as part of an extensive network upgrade to their infrastructure and VoIP solution.

Several Mlitel partners, including companies like RackForce, Windstream and Black Box Corporation (BBOX) have worked to promote, sell and support cloud communications services across the nation to seize more growth. These services are powered by Miltel’s flexible cloud platform.

The hiring of Steve Kelly, a former vice president of international sales for wholesale services at British Telecom, will strengthen the cloud sales management team and will aid the growth of the company globally, said Jon Brinton, General Manager of Mitel's cloud business.

Thus far, Miltel has provided its product already to 300,000 public and private cloud users. More impressive is the 71 percent growth of customers since last year.

The new MiCloud sales team to be led by Steve Kelly, according to Brinton, was created to take advantage and actually speed up the growth, as cloud-based solutions are in great demand these days.

Kelly is thought to be the right person for the job with his 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including his expertise in global services and sales, said Brinton. Yet, Kelly is not the only one to have joined the Miltel team. Former ShoreTel vice president of channel management, Joe Vitalone, arrived to lead the sales team for Americas, Tim Gaines, from ShoreTel, was appointed VP of the U.S. Sales team and Sandra Hill, from LifeSize, as VP of U.S. channel management and distribution.

Evidently all are pleased with their position, but Steve Kelly declared himself obviously excited for the opportunity and looking forward to share Miltel’s “simple but sophisticated path to the cloud” with customers globally.
