Motorola Solutions Officially Names Gino Bonanotte CFO

Motorola Solutions has its fingers in quite a few pies. Now the company has a brand new CFO. The new man in charge of making sure that the company has enough money to make another pie and that those pies will be bringing in revenues is Gino Bonanotte. Bonanotte was officially announced as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer at the end of last week after serving a period of time as the acting CFO and executive vice president of the company.

The announcement that Bonanotte will continue in his roles in a far more official title also means that the change is effective immediately. The new CFO will continue to report to Greg Brown, who is the chairman and CEO of Motorola Solutions. Bonanotte was named as the acting CFO in August.

“Since assuming the acting CFO role, Gino has consistently demonstrated his deep knowledge of our business and his strong operational orientation,” Brown said in a recent release announcing the official move. “I have been very pleased with his immediate impact and leadership.”

Bonanotte has been with the firm in one role or another since 1988 and most recently served as the corporate vice president in charge of financial operations for the company’s sales and product operations organization. Now that Bonanotte is the official Chief Financial Officer, he will play a bigger role as the company moves forward with several projects. In particular, Motorola Solutions appears to want to jump into the wearable tech market with both feet. Bonanotte will have a direct say over whether that is still in the cards, as well as just how the company will make that jump.

Bonanotte is an Illinois native who achieved most of his education in the state. The executive achieved a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois and then received his master’s in business administration from the University of Chicago.
