CounterPath ITSP Partner Program Targets Tech Savvy Mobile Users

In an effort to compete with over-the-top (OTT) internet operators such as Skye, CounterPath Corporation, an award winning desktop, tablet and mobile VOIP software developer, has launched its Internet Telephony Provider (ITSP) partner program that  offers providers to self-certify Bria mobile and tablet customers, thus  allowing users to obtain “off the shelf” items without the required confirmations.

The ITSP program, which is also open to Tier 2 operators, enables Internet Telephony Service Providers to certify their service with Bria mobile and tablet softphones for iOS and Android, providing a pre-provisioned service option for consumers. This simplified set-up process will not only improve the user experience for the providers' current customers but participating ITSPs can expand their market reach to new customers who may purchase and install Bria softphone clients, enabling them to choose a provider from the list of certified ITSPs included in the Bria client.

In addition, operators who are accepted into the program will be provided other benefits, such as, their company logo being displayed on the CounterPath ITSP partner webpage and mobile softphone Account page, and pre-configured service settings with CounterPath’s Bria Android Edition, Bria Android Tablet Edition, Bria iPad Edition and Bria iPhone Edition softphones.

"What makes the CounterPath ITSP program an interesting growth channel for Tier 2 operators such as Nova and Ventelo is that smartphones and tablets are now a table-stakes offering for their customers," said Todd Carothers, EVP of marketing and products at CounterPath. "When you tie that together with the market acceptance of OTT solutions and increasing demand for enterprise-ready, best-in-class UC services, you get a win-win-win opportunity for operators, consumers and application providers like CounterPath. Mobility is the driving force among today's tech savvy consumers and the better the end user experience, the stronger the brand loyalty when it comes to their communication providers."

Since its conception in 2011, the ITSP partner program has certified more than 100 ITSPs from across the globe, including the United States, United Kingdom, Argentina and Japan, serving millions of customers worldwide.
